Klassikaraadio’s 7-part series, Rostrum 2009, is on the air again from 9 February. The weekly listening sessions are dedicated to the new music presented at the 2009 International Rostrum of Composers.

On 21 January 2010, Klassikaraadio was paid a visit by the First Lady of Georgia, Mrs Sandra Elisabeth Roelofs.

The Nordic-Baltic Concert Season 2009-2010 is prepared in collaboration by eight countries – Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia – the well-established series of joint radio concerts is entering its 15th year this autumn.

Two works by Estonian composers, “Turbulence” by Mirjam Tally and “1film” by Tauno Aints, were presented by Klassikaraadio at the 56th International Rostrum of Composers that took place in Paris last week. Among the total of 57 compositions presented at the Rostrum, Mirjam Tally’s “Turbulence” came fifth.

Klassikaraadio made a live broadcast from the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra’s performance at the Estonia Concert Hall. In addition to the regular transmission of the musical performance, a part of the concert (second half) was be also viewable as a real-time webcast on Klassikaraadio’s homepage.

“Good music makes life much better! – Turn your day into a work of art!” Such is the message sent by Klassikaraadio to music-loving TV-viewers via the recent campaign on Estonian Television.
